1. Solution grafting of PP, the solvent used for solution grafting can be toluene, xylene or benzene. After PP is dissolved at 100~140 degrees, the grafting monomer is added to initiate the grafting reaction by free radical, oxidation or radiation. The solution method has the advantages of low reaction temperature, mild reaction, low degree of PP degradation and high grafting rate. However, a disadvantage is that the amount of solvent used is large, and the recovery is difficult. This method has been gradually eliminated in industrial production.

2. Suspension grafting is a method that does not use or only uses a small amount of organic network agent to initiate the reaction of PP powder, film or fiber with grafted monomer in the aqueous phase. This method not only inherits the advantages of solution method, such as low reaction temperature, low degree of PP degradation, easy reaction control and so on. Moreover, there is no solvent recovery problem, which is conducive to environmental protection.

4. Solid phase grafting. Solid phase grafting is a good method, which can be widely used for grafting modification of various polymers. Solid PP can be film, fiber, powder, but solid grafting usually refers to powder PP. Compared with other grafting methods, solid-phase grafting has many obvious advantages: the reaction is carried out at a lower temperature, and powder PP is almost No degradation, no solvent is used or only a small amount of solvent is used as a surfactant, the solvent is adsorbed on the surface of PP without recycling; the reaction time is short, the grafting rate is high, and the equipment is simple.
